Selma Timmons Youth Award
At the April 2000 meeting of the Middle Georgia Hemerocallis Society (MGHS), the members voted to permanently sponsor the Region 5 Selma Timmons Youth Award. Selma was such a prominent member of the MGHS, Region 5, and past president of the AHS, and loved working with the youth and encouraging them to grow daylilies, participate in club activities, and enter daylily exhibitions. The award is usually an engraved plaque and the Regional Youth Coordinator/Committee selects a winner from the Youth Award Show Winners and rotated among all the Region 5 clubs.
