Garden 4 – Wynn’s Daylily Garden Wynn’s Daylily Garden: A Family Legacy in Bloom
Nestled in the heart of North Central Florida, Wynn’s Daylily Garden is more than just a nursery—it’s a testament to a family’s deep-rooted love for gardening. Owned and operated by Gene and Mary Wynn, with the dedicated help of their daughter Jessica Clinard, this family-run business has blossomed into a beloved destination for flower enthusiasts. On busy weekends, the garden comes to life with extra hands from Mandi, Barry, Sonja, Kenley, Maddi, and Barrett, all working together to keep the tradition thriving.
A Passion Passed Through Generations: For Gene Wynn, farming is in his blood. Growing up on his family’s farm, he learned the value of hard work and developed a deep appreciation for the land. His childhood was split between tending crops and assisting his mother at her small grocery store, but his true passion for flowers began with his Mama, watering plants and nurturing her vibrant garden.
When Gene started his own family, he carried that love forward, bringing cherished plants from his grandmother’s yard to his new home. Among these were azaleas and heirloom daylilies—plants that would later inspire the foundation of Wynn’s Daylily Garden.
A Haven for Daylily Lovers: Boasting over 1,000 cultivars, Wynn’s Daylily Garden is home to one of the largest selections of daylilies in the region. Each spring, the family nurtures around 3,000 daylilies in 2-gallon pots, available for local purchase and nationwide shipping.
Jessica has taken the garden to the next level by hybridizing new varieties, adding fresh introductions to the collection in recent years. While the garden initially focused on Bill Munson cultivars, it has since expanded to include plants from many renowned hybridizers.
Beyond daylilies, the garden features an array of companion plants, including hydrangeas, pansies, dianthus, coleus, snapdragons, caladiums, amaryllis, and roses. The diverse flora creates a tranquil sanctuary for birds, butterflies, and visitors alike.
More Than a Garden—A Destination: Wynn’s Daylily Garden is designed to be more than just a place to buy plants—it’s a gathering spot for those who appreciate the beauty of nature. Visitors often find themselves relaxing in the gazebo, enjoying the serene environment during bloom season.
For those who want to linger, the garden offers a screened-in building with picnic tables and fans, providing a perfect space to share lunch or unwind. With restroom facilities and ample space for buses, it’s an ideal stop for gardening clubs and nature lovers looking for a peaceful retreat.
Experience the Beauty of Wynn’s Daylily Garden: Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or simply someone who loves flowers, Wynn’s Daylily Garden offers an unforgettable experience. The Wynn family’s dedication to their craft is evident in every bloom, making their garden a cherished oasis in North Central Florida.
Come for the daylilies, stay for the charm, and leave with a deeper appreciation for this family’s passion for growing beauty.
