Thomson Daylily Society Vernon Johnson, President 4th Sunday of each month at 2:30 p.m. Show date for 2006: Sunday, June 11Depot 111 Railroad St. Thomson, Ga. Officers Scheduled Speakers and Events: New Members: We would like to welcome Deborah McGahee to our club. THOMPSON Club News: We started the year off right by having as guest speakers, Jim and Peggy Jeffcoat. This dynamic couple needs no introduction. Their garden in South Carolina, Singing Oak Garden is known to everyone in the daylily world. Jim gave it the name because of birds singing in the oak’s branches. I have often wondered, and now we know. The Jim and Peggy initially were interested in iris, but in time, the daylilies eclipsed them, although they still grow some iris. Their slide presentation was one of the best I’ve seen, and I have seen many. In addition, they generously brought some plants for raffling, as did Ralph and Jane Carson, and Earnest Yearwood. We are busyplanning our 2006 show, which will be held here in Thomson on June11th.
