SOUTH GEORGIA Club News:
The South Georgia Hemerocallis Society started the year with our new president Woody Maxwell conducting the meeting. After a brief business meeting, Vicky Cason, our program chairman, introduced our speaker, Marilyn Waters. Marilyn is a teacher, and a member of our club. She spoke on daylily gardening and on container gardening. After the program Woody held a daylily auction.  Attendance was good, so quite a few members went home with new daylilies to plant.

Our February meeting on the 21st. was well attended, and had several new interested members. Business was conducted, and then Vicky introduced our program speaker. John Ed Smith, the county agent for Pierce Co. spoke and showed slides on starting, maintaining and care of our lawns.  We learned much, and he had many questions from the members. Members always enjoy the daylily auction at the end of the meetings.

Those interested in learning about and growing daylilies are invited to join us. We meet on the 3rd. Tuesday of the month at 7:00 p.m. at Wacona School.
