Dublin Hemerocallis Society

DUBLIN HEMEROCALLIS SOCIETY

The club meets the 4th Monday of each month at
6:30 p.m.-covered dish, at the New Bethel Baptist
Church, (located at Highway 257 and I-60). We invite
anyone in the Area to join us and bring a friend. The
food is always great and we usually have an abundance
of door prizes in the way of plants and garden items.

Dublin Hemrocallis Society News
Our Club met as usual on August 25th at New Bethel Baptist Church. Our program was presented by Raymond Joyce, Laurens County Extension Service on the use of various chemicals for controlling weeds. He did an outstanding presentation on many of our common weeds and which chemicals to use and when to use them. Mr. Joyce’s power point presentation and handouts described in detail, especially for control in daylilies. He also distributed information from the University of Georgia on daylily rust research.

We did not meet in September.

On October 18th we again met at the home and garden of Barbie Colvin in Milledgeville. Her garden is based on many large plants “Bold and Bodacious” with winding paths throughout. Her garden also displays a variety of roses.

Next year’s show is scheduled May 30, 2009 the weekend after the National in Florida and the weekend before Region 5 in Middle Georgia.

Our meetings will continue to be at the New Bethel Baptist Church (located at Highway 257 and I-16) on the 4th. Monday night at 6:30 p.m. with covered dish.
